This is a scan of a 35mm picture taken in 1998. The Pulteney Bridge was originally completed in ~1773, is lined with local shops from one end to the other, and no longer accepts vehicle traffic.
I have specific memories of walking this bridge, its vendors, and various parts of the town. Especially vivid are memories of the 1st century Roman bathhouses that still flowed from natural hot springs.
