Ghost town in Sego Canyon, UT

Sego Canyon saw it's heyday starting around 1908 after a vein of anthracite coal was discovered in the canyon.  At one point there were stores, houses, rail stations, etc.  This was a fascinating area to explore and one of those places I'd love to travel back in time to see at it's height of activity.


You can see the two canyons on either side of the "A" in the relief map below. Sego Canyon is to the right and Thompson Canyon is to the left. Thompson Springs, a near ghost town itself, can be seen where the I70 frontage road bends near the canyon.
